Admission Information
Applicants must meet the university's general admission requirements and program-specific requirements. Admission requirements depend on your previous education. Below is an explanation of how to admit students to this program. Depending on the timing of the entrance examination and the scholarship program, applicants are divided into three categories:
(1) Applicants seeking Japanese government scholarship by embassy recommendation,
(2) Applicants seeking Japanese government scholarship by special recommendation by the university, and
(3) Applicants seeking admission at private expense.
- -For Category (1), please contact the Embassy or Consulate of Japan in your country. When the Embassy decides to recommend a candidate, he/she must apply for the spring examination in the same process as a private expense applicant of Category (3). The program examines the applicant for matriculation. The selection process normally starts more than one year prior to entrance.
- -For further information on Categories (2) and (3), please consult the web site below.
International Students Admissions
The selection process for applicants in Category (2) normally starts about one year prior to entrance. Applicants need to submit application documents to take the winter examination. The entrance examinations for applicants in Categories (1) and (3) are conducted about half a year prior to entrance. Some laboratories recommend starting as a research student prior to the enrollment.
Every applicant is strongly encouraged to contact a prospective supervisor before this selection process.
